Transformative Support and Training

Wadani Agro Cooperative stands as a testament to the transformative power of strategic support and training provided by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). Over the years, Wadani Cooperative has diligently honed the technical support offered by SATG on farm management and bookkeeping, incorporating the latest advancements in agricultural practices, and mastering the art of quality seed production.

Remarkable Growth and Achievements

Strengthened by the comprehensive training and steadfast backing from ICRC, Wadani Agricultural Cooperative has witnessed remarkable growth in its seed production endeavors. The year 2023 marked a significant milestone, with the cooperative successfully delivering 4.5 metric tons of maize seed to the Darusalam Seed Company. Additional sales of maize seed are being negotiated with Gaalooge and Filsan seed companies.

Proactive Expansion Strategies

For company expansion, Wadani has proactively seized opportunities to showcase its seed varieties at locally administered agricultural events. This proactive engagement has been exemplified through the cooperative’s enthusiastic participation in seed fairs orchestrated by the Federal Ministry and other organizations like Hormud Telecom.

Exhibiting Excellence

During these events, Wadani has exhibited an array of superior seeds including maize, sorghum, cowpea, and mungbean, each meticulously packaged to uphold the highest standards of quality and presentation. This dedication to excellence not only underscores Wadani’s commitment to its craft but also solidifies its position as an emerging force in the seed systems landscape, poised to make enduring contributions to the agro-industry.

Filsan and Wadani are currently discussing a partnership venture in large-scale F1 hybrid seed production of ‘Siman’ in the Gu 2024 season using an out-grower’s management scheme.
